  Chapter One

Emma shifted in her bed, her eyes fluttering open as she felt something soft slide across her breasts. She opened her eyes and jerked awake when she saw Aiden lying in the bed with her. “Shhh,” he warned.

Glancing towards her window, she could see it was still dark outside and she checked her bedside clock; it was three in the morning!

“What are you doing in here?” she whispered.

“I couldn’t sleep, so I decided to come in here and see you. Why did you never tell me you sleep naked?” he said, laughter clear in his voice.

“Because you never needed to know,” she hissed. She pulled the sheet up to her shoulders and hid under them. “You should leave before we get caught.”

Aiden’s eyes sparkled in the moonlight and his voice was sulking as he said, “Maybe I should be loud. We wouldn’t have to sneak around like we are if I was. I mean, I want to shout it to the world that I have such an amazing woman in my life.”

Emma smiled...she couldn’t help it. She’d never been this happy in her life. She felt cherished every single day that she was with Aiden, and he didn’t seem to be eager to get back to the ring. In fact, since they made love a few days ago, he had taken his recovery and physio easy.

She had made sure to schedule him as her last client of the day because their sessions always seemed to end with them making love somewhere in her gym. The tub was a particular favorite, but against the wall in the change room had been wild. Who was she kidding, sex with Aiden was wild wherever they did it.

The only place they hadn’t had sex was in a real bed. She glanced at the bedding before she turned to Aiden and grinned. “Well, if you are up for it, let’s make some noise, baby.”

He practically choked as she flipped the sheet off herself. She was completely naked and she stretched in the moonlight to show off her curves. “Play nice, pixie,” he growled, but then his clothes were off and he was sliding under the sheets with her.

Flipping the covers over them, he pulled her against him and positioned her so her head rested against his chest. One of his hands ran up and down her back and he sighed, “This is right.”

Emma felt the tears in her eyes and she knew what he meant. Everything about who they were becoming was right. She didn’t want to admit it, but she was falling in love with him. The only problem was that she was too scared to ask him if he was doing the same. And she was even more afraid of what he would say if she professed her love.

“You really can’t be in here,” she yawned against his chest.

“Shhh, your mom is on the other wing of the house and we are the only ones who at this end for another day, at least.”

Groaning, Emma rested her chin on his chest and stared up into Aiden’s handsome face, “I don’t know what to do about Derek,” she admitted.

Although he had been expected a month ago, along with her grandmother, when Aiden was injured, they had both decided to wait. Grandmother had wanted another month in Europe anyway, and Derek hadn’t wanted to put stress on Aiden. They really were good friends after the years on the circuit together. He’d called often, but he was finally coming home tomorrow.

Emma was terrified. She’d never lied to Derek about anything, and she wasn’t sure how she could be in the same room with both him and Aiden without Derek realizing something was up. She wasn’t sure how he would react. She knew how her grandmother would react...she would be really angry that Emma was hurting the family name.

Aiden had grown still as she had thought about Derek and her grandmother – the only part of him moving was his hand as he created lazy circles on her back.

“I think we just need to play it by ear and see how the visit goes. I don’t want to keep this from him, but he was always sensitive where your well-being was concerned. He also remembers me from the days we were...enjoying...our fans.”

Emma laughed, and she rolled over so her breasts were pressed against his chest. She swung her leg over his hips and straddled him. “Oh, so did you enjoy a lot of fans?”

“No, not too many...but there were a few I could enjoy.”

Slapping his chest, Emma frowned at him and he chuckled softly. “But none of them could hold a candle to you. In fact, I can’t remember any other woman before you...you are my everything.”

She grinned and felt her heart thump with excitement at his words. He made her feel so wonderful. Glancing down between them, she looked back at him, grinning. “Seems like someone is thinking of doing more than just cuddling.”

Aiden laughed quietly. “Don’t you dare. We may be the only people on this side of the house, but we don’t want to tempt fate.”

Emma’s eyes twinkled with mischief. “Maybe I do. I mean, you can’t come into my room and wake me up by...” her voice trailed off as she searched around the bed. “What were you running over my body?”

“A lily,” he said. “I brought my beautiful pixie a lily, and I couldn’t resist running the silky petal over your skin.”

She looked around the room, and her gaze came to rest on the nightstand beside the bed. A white lily shone brightly in the dark room and she couldn’t stop the smile that spread across her lips or the warmth that spread through her body. “Aiden, take me right now,” she pleaded. “I promise not to make any sound; I just need to feel you inside of me.”

Aiden’s hand stopped moving along her bare back and he shuddered. His eyes filled with hunger, and he pulled her down against him so he could capture her mouth. He invaded her warm depths with his tongue and Emma mewed at the riot of emotion running through her. He pulled away and chuckled. “I don’t know,” he whispered. “You can’t even stay quiet when I kiss you.”

Emma stuck her lower lip out in a fake pout as her hand slid down his chest. She pinched his nipples, causing a harsh hiss to come from Aiden, before her hand slid down to his cock. She grabbed the thick shaft and guided it towards her entrance. She watched his hooded eyes as she gauged his response. Shifting slightly, she felt his tip enter her and she held still, biting her lip to keep from pushing backward and feeling his entire length in her pussy.

Gripping her hips, Aiden shook his head. “What you do to me, Em.”

She smiled and felt so powerful having this amazing fighter under her control. “You can’t tease me with a lily and not expect me to want more,” she murmured against his lips before she kissed him deeply. Breaking away from the kiss, she added, “I know I’m going to be quiet, but if you need to, you can bite down on my pillow to keep from crying out.”

Aiden laughed and the sound was quite loud in the silence of the house, “Shhh, baby, remember, we don’t want to be found out.”

Emma teased and then she sat up, her skin glistening in the moonlight as she dropped down and impaled herself on Aiden’s shaft.

He cursed as she rotated her hips and brought her arms up to her head. She captured her hair with her hands and moved her hips, sliding up and down his shift as Aiden writhed under her. She felt like an enchantress and let her hair tumble down her back as she grabbed Aiden’s hands and g
uided them to her nipples.

Taking his cue from her, he gently pinched her nipples as she moaned softly. “Uh-uh, Em, remember, you promised to be quiet.”

Emma groaned and tried to stay quiet as his cock slid in and out of her depth. He was so big that he filled her completely, and her pussy clenched along his thickness. She grinned as she ran her fingertip along her skin – Aiden’s eyes following the path it took until she reached the apex of her thighs. She arched back further, rocking his cock deep inside of her pussy, as her hand found the hard kernel of her clit.

She stared into Aiden’s eyes as she pressed on the sensitive bud. He cursed again and then they were coming together. He pulled her down towards him and captured her moans, swallowing them as they came together. Emma could feel his seed deep inside of her, and she squeezed her pussy tight around his shaft. He cursed softly again.

Aiden then rolled her to the side and wrapped her up in his arms. She placed her head on his chest and smiled. She had really never been as happy as she was right now. The only thing that dampened her spirit was the guilt of keeping everything from her mom and Aiden’s dad. They would tell them...someday soon.

“You should go to your bedroom,” she yawned.

His fingers caressed her skin and she felt more comfortable with every pass of his hand over her arm. “I will get up before dawn and head to my room. For right now, I just want to sleep with my woman in my arms.”

Emma smiled. She couldn’t argue with him. She wanted to sleep in Aiden’s arms as well. Kissing his bicep, Emma shifted into his warmth and then fell asleep wrapped in the scent of her lover.

  ****

  “Emma, are you awake?”

Jerking up, Emma glanced towards Aiden who was sound asleep beside her. She scanned the room and realized it was quarter after nine. Not only had they slept past dawn, but they had slept through her alarm. It was probably because they had woken up twice during the night and made love again.

  “Emma?”

“Just a second, Mom,” her voice sounded shrill in her ears. As much as she teased Aiden last night about them being caught, she didn’t want her mom to find out about them this way. “I’m not dressed yet, so don’t come in.”

Glancing down at Aiden, she noticed that his eyes were open and he was staring at her with concern. She placed her fingers to her lips and motioned for him to get off the bed. He stood up, completely naked in the morning light, and she couldn’t help but stare at his perfectly chiselled physique. The statue of David would be jealous at Aiden’s beauty.

No time for that now, her brain screamed at her and Emma went into a flurry of activity. Grabbing his clothes from the floor, she shoved them and him into her ensuite bathroom. She threw on her robe and carefully shut the door of the bathroom behind her. Bunching the blankets in her hands, she tried to make the bed look like it had only been slept in by one person. She gave a quick once over of the room and then opened her bedroom door a crack.

“Sorry, did you need something, Mom?” she tried to keep her voice from being breathless, but it was a bit from her exertion.

Alison pushed open the door and paused as she looked around the room. It was like she wasn’t sure whether to enter or not.

“I was just worried about you since you weren’t up yet,” she said quietly as she entered the room and sat on the divan beside the window. She patted the seat next to her and Emma sat down in it.

“You have seemed off the last few weeks, I’ve been worried.”

Guilt filled Emma and she tried to shake it off. For once, it wasn’t that she felt guilty about Aiden and the fact that they were stepsiblings, but she did feel guilty for not telling her mom that she was in a relationship. At one time, they had shared everything. “I’m fine, Mom,” she said before she added. “Really. I have been busy with work and I have been helping Aiden with his physio.”

Her mom went still and narrowed her eyes as if she was assessing Emma. She took a deep breath and let it out. “I was wondering if, maybe, you could refer him to a different physiotherapist.” She’d said the words carefully, but Emma could hear the double meaning in them.

  “Why?” she said dumbly.

“Well, you have been so stressed over the past few weeks that I have wondering if maybe working with Aiden is causing it. I mean, it was no secret how much you hated each other when you were younger. I always thought you two would grow out of it, but maybe you haven’t.”

Emma shook her head. “I don’t hate Aiden,” she said...I love him.

The thought hit her like a freight train and she stared out the window...she loved him...she really loved him. In fact, she had loved him for a long time, maybe even from the first time she’d met him at sixteen. Why had she never realized it before? Her mom stared at her with concern after Emma hadn’t spoken for several minutes.

Shaking herself, she turned to her mom, “Honestly, Mom, I haven’t been this happy in a long time. I am loving my work...even the work I am doing with Aiden. I was just stressed because it is a lot, but I am thriving with my schedule. In fact, I plan on expanding and hiring a few staff in the next few months.”

Her mom smiled and said, “I am happy for you,” but there was still a touch of worry in her eyes. “I just don’t want you getting hurt.”

“Anything worth doing has the potential for a little hurt,” Emma said and smiled as her mother chuckled. “You told me to never be the shrinking violet and to always accept any challenge that was thrown my way.” She looked towards her ensuite, “Besides, I don’t think, in this instance, that I will be hurt. I think things will happen the way they are supposed to.”

Following her gaze, Emma’s mother gave her a questioning glance before she looked towards the bed, her eyes narrowing and a small smile playing on the corner of her mouth. Her gaze fell on the flower sitting on Emma’s nightstand. “Who gave you the lily?”

“Oh,” Emma said, her mind reeling, “I picked it myself on the way home.”

“You should really put it in some water,” her mother said dryly. “Well, I just came in to see if you were okay and to let you know that Tony and I are heading into the city to pick your brother up at the airport. We should be home late tonight, so don’t worry about waiting up.”

Emma nodded. “Thanks for letting me know. I can’t wait to see Derek.”

She stood and followed her mother to the bedroom door. “Do you want to come with us?” her mother asked.

“No, I have a ton of things to do in the office this morning and I have a few appointments in the afternoon. I will see Derek when you guys get back.” She smiled at her mom and then gave her a quick hug. “Drive safe.”

Her mom squeezed her and said, “Thank you and I hope that you are truly happy.” She pulled back and Emma noticed that there were tears shining in her eyes, but she looked happy. Before she could question it, her mom turned and headed towards the stairs.

Emma watched her go and then she closed the door, locking it behind her as she leaned against the door. The bathroom door opened slowly and she saw Aiden standing in the doorway with his jeans riding low on his hips and nothing else on. She smiled as she admired his sexy V-shaped body.

“I think she knows about us,” Emma said as her gaze swept over Aiden. “She was worried about me being happy and about you making me miserable.”

His eyes turned stormy with worry as he glanced at the door. “Do you think she disapproves?”

“That’s the thing – I have no idea. Mom has always done things on her own terms and she taught Derek and me to do the same. I think she may accept our relationship. My grandmother and Derek on the other hand...” her voice trailed off before she asked, “How do you think Tony will take it?”

  He grinned, “Tony knows.”

  “What!”

“I mean, he doesn’t know that we are together, but he does know that I have had a crush on you since I was eighteen. He often teases me about it when we are alone, and he always asks when I am going to make my mov
e.”

Emma gasped, “But he’s married to my mom...I thought he would be against it.”

“Yeah,” he shrugged, “You were almost an adult when he married Alison, so he doesn’t really think of you as his stepdaughter...more like his wife’s daughter. I mean, don’t get me wrong, he still loves you like a daughter, but he was never hung up on that whole stepsibling thing.”

“Like me,” Emma said, her mouth twisting in distaste. Truth be told, it still made her stumble a few times when she thought about it. Aiden didn’t say anything, but he knew what she was thinking.

“What else did she say?” he said as he crossed his arms over his chest. She licked her lips at the way his gaze was caressing her body.

“She was telling me that the house would be empty until late tonight. They’re picking up Derek and doing a few things in the city while they are there.”

His gaze flicked over her lazily as he said, “So what you’re saying is that we will have the house to ourselves all day.” She nodded, her mouth suddenly dry. “Well, then, I guess we have a few things to do today...and it should start with a shower.”

He nodded towards the bathroom and opened the fly of his jeans as Emma watched. Pulling the jeans down, he kicked them off and Emma could look at nothing except his long erection. Finally dragging her eyes from his groin, she looked up at him as he smiled. “You coming?” he asked before he turned and disappeared into the bathroom.

  Grinning, Emma said, “Um, yes.”

  Chapter Two

“Derek!” Emma exclaimed as she came around the corner and spotted her brother standing in the kitchen, a coffee mug in his hand. “I didn’t hear you come in last night.”

He turned and grinned at her. “Hey, sis, we got in really late, my plane was delayed, so I didn’t want to wake you up.”

Emma wrapped her arms around Derek and gave him a kiss on the cheek. “I’ve missed you. How is Houston?”

“Flat,” he laughed. “Actually, it is good, but I miss home. I’m glad to be back for the next month. I took extended time off at the firm.” The laughter slipped from his eyes, and Emma wondered about it. As far as everyone knew, he was doing well. He was hired by one of the top architecture firms in the area and he had some amazing prospects at the firm. But his tone and expression made it clear that there was something not right in Houston.
